Eat to Lose Weight

Are you one of the millions of people suffering from being overweight? Is your kitchen counter is filled with protein shakes and diet pills that didn't work, and your basement crammed full of exercise equipment that eventually just sits there? Have you starved and exercised yourself into what felt like oblivion to see hardly even a dent of weight loss on your scale? Maybe you have tried every latest craze on the market, only to see very little, if any results! Is it any wonder so many of us eventually give up?

That's how it was for me until I stumbled across the most amazing plan to lose weight. It is the healthiest and safest way to lose weight I have found. But most importantly, it actually works! You don't have to starve yourself, exhaust yourself, or drain your bank account trying to lose those extra pounds. You can actually eat your way into getting thin! That's what I did!

By eating the right foods at the right time, you can lose weight quickly and effectively. It is so easy, anyone can do it! Eating food is much more effective than taking any dietary pill. By eating specific foods at the right times, your body will burn fat calories at a very fast pace. It will fuel fat loss and you will see the pounds start dropping off. I was amazed to see the body I once had as a teenager! I really thought that would never be possible for me again.

This weight loss plan is the easiest plan I have ever tried. The 11 day program is all laid out for you. You will never starve and you will enjoy eating delicious foods that will make the pounds melt right off your body. After 11 days, you will have 3 days to cheat and eat whatever you want. Have you ever heard of such an easy plan? You will be amazed to see the results! I was thrilled to be able to wear clothes I had not been able to fit in for years! And what fun it was to go buy myself a whole new wardrobe!

By losing weight you will greatly reduce your chances of getting Type2 Diabetes, heart and colon cancer, arthritis, high blood pressure and a number of other diseases related to being overweight. You will have much more energy and feel so much better about yourself. It is the best thing I have ever done. Losing weight doesn't have to be just a dream any more.

By using this method I have lost more weight than I ever thought possible. The nice thing is, it really does work! For more information you can go to http://www.articlelinkto.com/fatloss4idiots

Not All Spyware Is Malicious But Must Be Removed

Though not all Spyware is malicious they must be removed all the same. The reason being that they will ultimately expand the registry of the system and stall the programs and generally make the system unstable.

Some people believe that you may not always need to remove spyware because Spyware is not always malicious. There are many kinds of Spyware that can infect your PC. Most of them are, thankfully, not uploaded with malicious intent. But why take chances. First of all let us analyze how Spyware comes to get onto the system in the first place. People who browse the Internet come across many sites that offer free download. Clicking on these downloads may bring with it some program in the background or hidden from the user. This may be in the form of ActiveX controls or components. When we download certain programs the download program flashes a message requiring the user to allow the download of an ActiveX control without which the download will not work. This ActiveX control is registered in the CLSID files of the registry. Once the download is complete the ActiveX control stored as a .OCX file begins its stealthy work. Best Spyware removal programs are especially weary of ActiveX controls and remove any malicious looking .OCX files.

Not All Spyware Cause Damage

Spyware is not always illegal. You may have inadvertently agreed to the use of the Spyware by clicking on the 'agree' button without reading the agreement. This kind of Spyware, however, does not carry out any malicious activity. It just collects data off all the Internet sites you visit and mails the information to the host where it came from. This does not mean that you cannot remove it when you want. You can do so with certain free Spyware Virus removal programs that search and remove adware and Spyware as well. There are malicious and downright criminal Spyware as well. This type of Spyware locates personal information such as that pertaining to your credit card or online bank information and is used for criminal activities usually causing a lot of damage to you. The system must be regularly scanned with free Spyware Adware removal utilities and then the registry cleaned with a registry cleaner to make sure the system is always secure.

Run Anti Spyware Every Time You Think Of It

Spyware can be removed from the system by using anti Spyware programs. However the anti Spyware software does not remove the entries of the ware from the registry. Special free anti Spyware removal software is required to do just that. Free anti Spyware removal software such as Microsoft Spyware removal tool, Yahoo Spyware removal utility or any of the free Spyware removal tools can scan the registry for broken links and useless entries that are no longer linked to programs. These free Spyware removal tools will then remove these entries from the registry freeing up disk space and compacting the registry for efficient use.

Using Get and Set Might Be Something Youll Regret

Its an all-too-common pitfall. Programmers who attempt to write object-oriented code decide to make all of their data variables private, while creating public get() and set() function pairs for each one. See? they declare, as they pat themselves on their backs. The data is private, but it can be accessed through these functions. Ive encapsulated my data. Thats what object-oriented design requires.

I think this betrays a fundamental (and exceedingly common) misunderstanding of what constitutes encapsulation and information hiding. Ideally, in an object-oriented design, the user of a software class should have no idea what type of data the class contains. As far as hes concerned, the class should simply provide the required services, and its internal details should be invisible. However, when we provide get() and set() function pairs for each member variable, we are basically announcing the existence of this data to the world. The information hiding provided by this class is weakand arguably non-existent. One might change the name, data type or implementation of this member variable, but its existence remains painfully obvious to everyone.

(Note that I say that the user should ideally be oblivious to the type of data contained within the class. In practice, this is not always feasible. If we were to implement a BankAccount class, for example, most programmers would immediately guess that this class would have the account balance as one of its data members. They would also guessrightfully sothat the owner of this account is likely to be data member as well. Nevertheless, we should avoid needlessly divulging such details, especially when the contents of a class are not so easily discerned.)

In effect, these get() and set() member functions are almost as bad as having public data. Sure, they may provide some useful services; for example, the set() function could validate the data, ensuring that it is within the proper range of values. Nevertheless, they tend to violate the spirit of information hiding, at least to some degree.

Using get() and set() functions is not always a bad idea; in fact, sometimes they make perfect sense. Their frequent use, however, is a pretty good indication of a poorly abstracted software designone that does not adhere well to the principle of information hiding. When designing software classes, we need to think primarily in terms of the services they provide (i.e. their public functions), rather than the data they contain. Ideally, their data implementations should proceed from the required services, rather than other way around.

To illustrate this concept, let us revisit the BankAccount class mentioned earlier. It is clear that the BankAccount object will need to keep track of its balance, so lets make that a data member. A novice programmer (or one with a poor grasp of object orientation) may choose to provide both GetBalance() and SetBalance() functions for this class but does this make sense?

What happens when a user attempts to make a deposit? The user would have to call GetBalance(), add the deposit amount, and then set the new value using GetBalance(). Thats not how real users operate, though; in the real world, there is no need for the depositor to know how much money is in the account. This class design gives the user too much information and requires too many steps.

Similarly, to perform a withdrawal, the user would need to call GetBalance(), subtract the withdrawal amount, and then call SetBalance() to update the account. This also requires too much work on the users part. In the real world, the user should not always be required to know exactly how much money is in the account. This person might want to know that there are sufficient funds, but he wouldnt necessarily need to know the precise balance, and this information should not be a constant requirement.

A sensibly written class should provide the following services instead: DepositAmount(), WithdrawAmount() and GetBalance(). With this design, the data memberthe account balanceis logically implied by the services provided, rather than the other way around. (We could define other services, such as AccrueInterest() and TransferFunds(), but lets keep it simple for now. Note that these services might suggest additional data members; for example, AccrueInterest() would suggest that a data member would be needed for the interest rate.)

In summary, get() and set() function pairs are not inherently bad, but their preponderance could suggest a poorly abstracted software design. Theres nothing inherently wrong with using get() and set() functions when they form part of a sensibly designed set of services. Nor is there anything wrong with using a data member to reflect these functions. When one proceeds in the opposite direction, thoughwhen one starts with the data members, then adds corresponding get() and set() pairsthats a strong indication of a poorly conceived software design.

How To Block Sites Access Manually

If you are using Windows Operating System and did not use Proxy to connect to the internet, then search for the 'hosts' file or if you use Windows XP and use Windows XP standard installation, you can find the file at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

These file used as a mapping site URL to your localhost IP.

You can use this trick to block sites access and also blocking ads sites, so you can surf the internet faster.

For example, if you want to block library.monx007.com site, just add the codes below at hosts file:

127.0.0.1 library.monx007.com

Save the hosts file, then open your favorite browser and point to library.monx007.com. Your browser will displat a blank screen as the result

Another example:

127.0.0.1 us.a1.yimg.com

127.0.0.1 www.google.com

127.0.0.1 www.doubleclick.net

127.0.0.1 monx007.com

127.0.0.1 games.monx007.com

127.0.0.1 shop.monx007.com

This tips can be used at other operating systems, (such as Linux, Unix), as long as you know where the file hosts located

Understanding International Copyright Laws For Software Programmers

Is there one governing law for international software copyright? According to agreements by the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIP), any software written has an automatic copyright. This is a conclusive consensus as far as an international copyright goes.

An international software copyright should not, however, be confused with a patent. Copyrights provide creators with the ability to prevent others from directly copying the software code. A patent can actually limit the use of the software. Because of this, patents are a hotly debated topic when it comes to software.

The biggest thing to know about international software copyright is that your code is essentially protected the moment you create it. This is, unless you have some kind of contract through your employer that all code you create belongs to them.

The problem many companies face to enforce software copyright is that computers are not permanent fixtures in a company. Computers are disposable hardware. Because technology keeps evolving, software needs to be updated when new computers are purchased. Rather than purchasing new copies of software when the computers are replaced, companies are notorious for reusing old copies of the software. They are also famous for replacing 10 computers with the software installed with 40 new computers and installing the 10 copies of the software on all 40 computers. This is breaking software copyright.

There are no major differences between traditional policies for American copyright and international software copyright which make legal issues, troubles, and woes that much easier to deal with. By having a unified international front there are ramifications and legal actions that can be taken around the world without going through a great deal of international red tape. If you think dealing with the American government is bad, you should see how much fun it is to deal with the American government and another government for a legal action.

The agreement between nations for international software copyright is probably one of the soundest possible decisions that can be made as military secrets of all governments have some degree of software to keep them operating. While it isn't quite as simplistic as stealing a computer program to unlock the defense secrets of a nation, having access to certain source codes could be problematic in the absolute best-case scenario. Keeping secrets isn't the only thing that makes this agreement so valuable, it is however, one of the most vital.

Perhaps one of the greatest things to protect and honor software copyright is the peace of mind that is available to software developers in America and other technologically advanced countries. Their source code won't be allowed to be stolen and used against them at a later date by someone in a developing nation with cheap labor and other overhead costs that American corporations simply cannot compete with. This could be devastating to the economies of technological societies if it were allowed to happen. The agreement for an international software copyright prevents that from being allowed to occur.

Hormones are chemicals that are produced by glands in the body and circulate in the bloodstream that control numerous body functions including sebum (skin oil) production and regulation. Now You Can Create Your Own Desktop Icon!

There are some people who put as much effort into customizing their computer desktops as they do into decorating the tops of their desks or even rooms. I have personally seen friends of mine spend hours looking for the perfect desktop icon which reference some show or other that they used to watch in their childhood in the 70s. And no matter how obscure or rare the desktop icon, someone, somewhere in this universe of ours has at the very least a pirate version of it, often as part of a theme. There are countless desktop icons floating around, that the number will probably never be known.

Certainly the best way to get all of your icons is as part of a desktop theme. Desktop themes comes with icons, background pictures, event sounds, and even color schemes all on the same subject to convert your desktop into a seamless color-filled, decorative scheme. For example, I used to have a Scooby-Doo theme, complete with a desktop icon for every character. There was even a mystery machine desktop icon with little rolling wheels that informed me when the computer was busy loading something. The coolest thing about that desktop theme was the little zoinks sound that it made each time an error occurred. And since I was running Windows, that happened rather frequently. The Scooby Doo desktop icon itself was way snazzy IMHO.

If (and this is a real IF) you really have a thing for desktop icons, the best thing to do is to create them yourself! How fun is that?! You can quite easily download a desktop icon creator, and you wouldn't believe how easy they are to make. Every desktop icon is really just a very small, fairly low-resolution picture. This means that you can probably create the perfect desktop icon with a little imagination and creativity, as well as one to two hours of your time.

I have also been told that certain desktop icon creators can shrink photos into desktop icons for you, saving you precious time that it takes to create them, but I do not know if this actually exists. The best thing is to try it out yourself if you are really interested. Like any other program, the desktop icon creator software can be found in either free or trial versions (just google it), so it not that difficult to get hold of and start using. So then you will finally have those perfect desktop icons you have always dreamt of having!

Where to Find a Yoga Ball

There is a wide selection of places where one can buy a yoga ball- both online and offline. Woolworths is one of the more popular options for those looking to buy a decent yoga ball at a reasonable price, as they offer a yoga and body ball set, which includes yoga tools, body ball, air pump, yoga mat, two yoga bricks, yoga strap, resistance band, yoga instruction video, gym ball instruction video, and an instruction DVD.

Another option is Kelkoo - they offer a wider selection of products, such as: yoga ball program and wall chart video, complete yoga set and body ball, yoga burst resistant Swiss ball and pump, totally fitness 53cm Swiss ball, and more. The yoga burst resistant Swiss ball and pump set is ideal for use in yoga, and the totally fitness 53cm Swiss ball is a strong and versatile prop for aerobic, strength and flexibility exercises. These are also often known as Swiss balls, gym balls, yoga balls, fit balls and exercise balls.

Ask friends or your yoga instructor for recommendations. Read online reviews by people who have bought yoga balls as they are more objective than retailers or manufacturers.

Used or New?

You could also try eBay, which often has both used and new balls for auction. Depending on whether you want a used yoga ball or not, you can find a great variety on eBay. EBay is also helpful because it allows you to narrow down the selection by choosing options that best suit your own personal interests, so that you can quickly and easily find the perfect yoga ball for you.

Depending on where the item is located, shipping and handling can be quick and easy, as well as affordable. This also saves you the time and effort of having to search through several different websites and stores looking for the right ball. Technically, there is no difference between a used or new ball provided it is not damaged or defective in any way. It is just a matter of personal preference.

You might want to look at neighborhood garage sales as you can ask the owner if you have any questions and actually see the ball as compared to eBay.

You can often find excellent deals at some sporting good stores that often throw in some additional promotional items if you purchase a yoga ball. Look around for coupons or big holiday weekend sales and youre sure to find a great ball at an amazing price.

Bob Henry has written articles about many subjects - but has a preference for Yoga-related information. You can read more about Yoga Balls and where to find them on the Internet at http://www.woordpress.com.Angelo Blog90850

Anthony Robbins- The Worlds Greatest Motivator

If you have ever heard of the concept of neurolinguistic programming, or NLP, which was originally conceived by linguist John Grinder and Gestalt therapist/computer programmer Richard Bandler, you will remember that it is basically a bunch of positive thinking techniques that has become popular in recent years by Anthony Robbins. Anthony Robbins explains the meaning of "neurolinguistic programming like this:

The name comes from neuro, referring to the brain, and linguistic, referring to language. Programming is the installation of a plan or procedure. NLP is the study of how language, both verbal and nonverbal, affects our nervous system. It is in our ability to do anything in life which is based upon our ability to direct our own nervous system. Those people who are able to produce some outstanding result do so by producing specific communications to and through the nervous system.

One of the most popular methods for doing this is called modeling. This method basically states that behaviors can be installed into a person much in the same way that you would insert software onto a computer. You can use language to program the human mind with productive beliefs and behavior rather than bad ones. All you have to do is pick a successful person to serve as the model, and then imitate them. He believes that by doing this you can program your mind to successful habits. Anthony Robbins says that a key aspect to NLP is that all human beings share the same basic neurology. This means that if anyone in the world is successful at doing a something, any other human being can do the same thing if they run their own mindset in the exact same way. That is where the term modeling came from because you are modeling your behavior after them. You can also take advantage of personal development affiliate programs like SkyQuestCom or Success University

If you want to achieve success, all you need to do is find someone to model yourself after and all will be fine. The hard part may just be finding that person to start with. The best part about Anthony Robbins method is that you can apply it to any aspect of your life. For example, you can be a better parent, athlete, chef, student and any other aspect of your life that you want to be successful in. Anthony Robbins methodology might sound too simple, but that is part of its brilliance as it makes it easier to understand and apply to your life.

Liar, LiarWatch Out For Rogue Software Posing As Anti-Spyware

Ever been tricked by one of those pop-up windows that says your system is infected and you should download this cure' right now? I have, and I should know better. But, I was in the middle of several tasks at once, I looked over and saw this warning window. Now this window looked similar to a window I have seen many times.

Without thinking I clicked the OK' button thinking this was a message from the security system. I knew when I clicked it I had made a mistake. My eye caught the web address the page was going to, and it wasn't what it said in the link. Now fortunately our "Pest Patrol" got it and I was ok. But the point is that one rogue program got by me.

The larger portion of issues causing connectivity or performance problems revolve around spyware or the products to remove them. And most of the spyware we receive is actually legal. The user agrees to install it when they agree to install another product like a search bar or email links.

The big spreaders here are Yahoo, Google, MSN, AOL but there are many others. These come in the guise of weather, news, RSS feeds, stock tickers you name it. They gather information on the sites you visit and send the user data back to the companies. Always be mindful of what you allow to download. Always watch what you install. Look for checked boxes, read the license. Make sure you only get what you originally wanted. These components compete for the online connection and the result is, of course, connection issues.

The spyware that got me above was fed to me by the web site I just went to. The browser window was re-directed to another window that looked like a warning screen. This is another favorite method to get spyware on your system. Pretend to be a product that removes it; wolf in sheepskin also known as Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware Software.

Check out the website Spyware Warrior that lists many suspect websites and programs. They have a long list of names: Adware Agent , SafeWebSurfer, Spy-Block for example. Many of the names are designed to confuse them with legitimate software like Ad-Aware. The only real protection here is to use common sense and some healthy fear. If you didn't order it or are not sure of it, then don't use it!

The last performance killer is the spyware suites themselves. The newer ones are so large they kill performance on older machines or machines with modest resources. Also if one spyware scanner is good then two are better ... right? Wrong. If they are both running in the background and using system resources they can slow the system to a crawl.

The best thing to do is find one good program to scan automatically and use another one to scan manually. The one we use and recommend to run in the background is called Pest Patrol . Then we scan manually with the Ad-Aware scanner, which offers a great free program for personal use. Just make sure you update your anti-spyware programs and scan regularly.

Finally, always watch what you download and install and always beware and look closely when something pops up on your screen ... it may not be what it seems.

An Introduction To Website Analytics

You recently revamped your firms website or are planning an online marketing campaign, but are not really sure what youll gain in return? Website analytics is a science whose aim is to answer such questions.

In this piece, well take a look at the benefits of web analytics and ways to optimize its tools.

Bet youre already thinking this is geeky stuff! But if we get rid of the jargon, website analytics simply means the study of the impact that a website has on its users. For example, what are the pages that most visitors spend time on? Which products sell best online? Is the registration process a turn-off?

But thats not all. Web analytics software can provide a whole lot of information in fine detail, thereby bringing valuable insight to marketers looking to refine their online strategy.

Things you can do using website analytics

Understand visitor behavior: Monitor the number of visitors and where they come from, understand how they navigate your site and what keywords they like, or get a feel of whether your site is meaty enough to hold their attention. An extreme example would be a study of visitor behavior on BBCi Search Service, which found that 1 in 12 search terms were misspelled!

Study advertising effectiveness: The U.S. online advertising market is booming, and set to cross US$ 16 billion 2009. That is almost twice what it was in 2004! Sooner or later, youll find yourself contemplating an Internet driven campaign. Website analytics will enable you to find out how your website shows up in organic and paid searches, which banners are being clicked on the most and which affiliate sites work best. It could also help you review the performance of different keywords and judge whether you need to tweak those that havent delivered.

Evaluate online sales: Lets face it! Your ultimate objective is to drive sales, and youd rather put your money elsewhere if your online initiatives are not turning the cash registers. Your web analytics software will create reports that can tell you what kind of sales are being generated, how many customers return, who are the prospects and so on. And from that, you can calculate the ROI of your campaign.

On the flip side, website analytics may also tell you if your competitor is inflating your advertising costs by repeatedly clicking on your pay per click banner!

How to make the most of your web analytics reports

Choose carefully: Identifying an appropriate analytics vendor is paramount. Check their credentials while there are lots of free sites, they might provide nothing other than visitor counts. Quality suppliers offer a basket of products tailored to clients specific business needs.

Ask why: While analytics software can be a very effective tool, its important to know how to use the insight that is generated. Thats no different from say, a supermarket, where candy is placed near the checkout, because experience has shown that customers will buy it on impulse. Lets assume for a moment that your analytics report says that lots of people drop out before reaching the buy now page. Could this be due to a technical error which makes the page unreadable on some browsers? Or is it just too cumbersome to complete a transaction?

Take a second opinion: It is a good idea to have your website analyzed by a professional (in case you dont have the expertise) to see if the analytics reports suggest the need for a change in site layout. Often, a format that facilitates intuitive browsing will work better than a rich but intricate structure.

Know where youre headed: Most important, clearly define your websites objectives.

Do you want it to provide information or prompt a specific action? Are you looking to generate leads or close a sale? The answers to these questions will determine the depth of your requirements. Only when youre sure of where youre going, will website analytics be a useful navigator!

Top 3 Reasons To Send Fax Over Internet

Without a doubt, facsimile (or commonly, fax) is one of the most important innovation in communication technologies. If doesnt matter how big is your business or what is your business nature; you just have to own the faxing ability to keep the business going. Recent market investigation shows that nowadays, even with the wide-use Email services, faxing is still one of the items that cover big percentage in business operation cost.

Nevertheless, faxing nowadays doesnt depend solely on conventional fax machine. By utilizing high speed Internet connection, we now have an alternative in fax-communication Internet faxing. In brief, Internet faxing is a service that allows you to send or receive fax without the faxing machine. Faxes are sent and received in Email attachment format.

Why send fax to email?

There are many reasons why Internet business is such popular. Users often get extremely frustrated with conventional faxing machine as they often suffer problems like paper jam, extra phone line cost, cuts off page text, and fax transmission failure. Although not able in replacing the traditional fax machine, Internet fax provides an easy faxing method where the service is 24 hours ready, no more engage tones, and no more paper jamming. Faxes will always send out and arrived smoothly via your email account without any cost of extra phone line.

Listed here are the top 3 reasons why you should try up on Internet faxing:

1. Low operation cost

Internet faxing requires very low start up and operation cost. To use Email faxing services, all you need is a computer with Internet connection and an active Internet fax service account. As the PC is a must for any kind of business nowadays, theoretically the account subscription fees is the only extra pay for using Internet fax. When comparing with conventional faxing equipment such subscription fees are extremely low as they normally ranged from $2 to $20 (depends on your level of usage).

2. Easy and convenient to use

Basically anyone who can use an Email service is well conditioned to use Internet faxing services. Sending Internet faxes is the same as sending out Emails - how hard can that be? Most, if not all email fax providers have a Web Interface (online site) where you can log onto and do all your faxing chores. Send and receive your faxes. Most fax services also allow you to store your faxes online for easy access. Most Internet fax services will work with Windows Outlook and Windows Office. Some have free desktop applications that you can download and place on your desktop which allow you to send and receive your faxes from your desktop.

Finally, most services let you send a fax by just sending an email, i.e. (destination number)@yourfaxservice.com - It doesn't get any easier than that.

Mobility

Mobility is another selling point for Internet faxing services. All you need for sending Email fax is just a PC with Internet connection and an Internet faxing account this enables you to send faxes in anywhere, anytime.

Also with Internet fax, you will receive a local or toll-free fax number that you can give out to all your contacts. You can also store all your faxes online or on your computer's hard-drive, so you know exactly where your faxes are. You know exactly where to find that important fax when you need it. No more scrambling through files or garbage bends to find your faxes. No more missed faxes because of busy signals, not to mention the decrease in all that foul language as there are no more paper jams.

You probably come to this article while looking for substitution for your conventional fax machine. It is true that Internet fax services are one of the online services that can beneficial greatly to your business or personal expenses. However in order to get the best from it, one must be careful and review more on the faxing services thats available in the market. Different Internet faxing packages are meant for different categories of users. If you only need to receive faxes, you can try out eFax Free (Get it at http://www.myinternetfax.biz/overview/efaxfree.html) which will cost you nothing; if you send faxes frequently and needs a toll-free number for your business, eFax Plus might be something you want to look at. If you are always on the road and need to send email faxes via mobile portal, Call Wave faxing services is recommended.

Learn more about the services details when you are shopping for the right Internet faxing services: the reputation and customer feedbacks on the services, the ability to send to more than one fax number at a time, the faxing page capacity, the send/receive page amount-limit and the hidden cost of sending extra faxes are some factors that you do not want to miss out. .

Building a Content Rich Website - Part 1

This article series will focus on the importance of building a "content rich" website and why this is the best way to benefit your visitors and make you more money online.

There is a lot of talk these days about the "Google Slap" and how it has changed the internet marketing landscape and how people should build their websites from now on. It has been true that many people have had great success in the past with the so called no-work websites, building a network of them using automated tools. These sites work on the principal of creating vast areas of "virtual real estate" in the hope of attracting traffic and then generating revenue from people clicking through Adsense ads and the like. The idea being that if you have thousands of pages each generating a few cents here and there that it adds up to good money.

The potential problem for the people that have adopted these methods is that the "Google Slap" is all about focusing on the real visitor experience of someone visiting your website. Google is actually getting human reviewers to have a look around sites (presumably they have to be high ranking sites or why would they bother) and rate them on the basis of whether the visitor is actually getting the information they were searching for. If your site is not deemed to be delivering satisfactory content then your site ranking will be downgraded and you could even possibly have your site delisted.

Apart from the human reviewers Google also has the ability to automatically monitor the time that someone spends on a site after clicking through from a Google search. If statistically speaking your site shows up as having a large percentage of visitors that spend a very brief time at your site then it will raise warning bells and a site ranking downgrade and even a possible delisting could be just around the corner.

Now there is no point in getting angry or upset about this if you have used these methods in the past. The internet world has moved on and it really is in your best interests to go with the flow and learn how to keep the almighty search engines happy. Although it is worthwhile pointing out that some internet marketers have chosen to continue to try and beat the system and are still having some success at doing so. But the point is that sooner or later the vast number of PhDs and other talented people that Google employ will catch up with them as well so unless you get some kind of perverse thrill from always being on the run there is probably a better methodology to follow.

Now what exactly are these better methodologies? Firstly by ensuring quality content and being committed to creating quality content then there is no chance of you falling foul of a human reviewer or worse still failing to attract a loyal following for your site(s). Patience and perseverance are the keys to building any business and now more than ever these age old values are coming to the fore for internet marketing. Building web sites by hand takes time, spending 2-3 months building a really useful and content-rich website is well worth the effort.

It's not all bad because at the end of the day without quality content, your site is nothing and the Google Slap will ultimately result in a better experience for the majority of web users.

In further articles I'll discuss:
* why lots of quality content is the key to lots of traffic.
* how to go about sourcing content for your sites.
* the importance of adding dynamic content to your site, both for the human reader and for the search engine robots
* the different ways of monetizing your site (not just Adsense)
* the vast array of internet marketing software tools available
* the kinds of software that can assist you to build better sites faster
* the kinds of software that help you short term, medium term and long term
* developing an overall strategy for your new "career online"
* how to work smarter and more efficiently

I'll even discuss how to set goals that are congruent with your deepest desires!

Till next time I wish you every success.

E-currency Trading Is Sweeping Across the Internet in 2006

Many people have never heard of e-currency trading before and most people are wondering what it is. E-currency trading is a relatively new, yet lucrative opportunity that allows individuals to trade e-currencies such as E-gold, Netpay and E-bullion just to name a few.

Unlike the Forex arena where 95% of traders lose money, e-currency trading is exactly the opposite. Because many people need real cash to move money in and out of e-currencies, it creates an opportunity for people to capitalize on the transaction making it possible to earn a percentage of that transaction for assisting with the transfer.

E-currency trading is a growing industry as more and more people are purchasing items online in the form of e-currency. As long as people continue to purchase items online, there will always be a need for people to exchange funds from hard cash to online currencies and vise versa.

Many people are skeptical when getting into the home based business industry, so how do you know which one is right for you? For starters, it requires choosing an opportunity that meets your needs. Sure there are many scams out there and with so many offers out there today, who wouldnt be skeptical? The truth is, many people are making money and if they are, they dont really want you to be a part of it because it only creates more competition for them. However, e-currency trading takes away all the competition and skepticism creating a way for everyone to succeed.

There are many programs available online that teach e-currency trading. Some are better than others and it all depends on the quality of training your looking for. Ive personally spent countless hours trying to learn how to do this business by reading forums and searching in Google, but it only seemed to be a waste of time since there was no free formal training available. After sometime I finally gave in and picked up a course that helped me understand the business in a big way. It took approximately 3 weeks before I really had a handle on things and I was off and running.

When deciding on e-currency trading as a business opportunity, it does require a bit of work, but nothing more than a few hours a week if you can believe it. Theres an old saying, you only get out what you put in. This applies to any type of home business.

Get Others Happily Involved In Your Vision Before You Throw Your Business Plan At Them

Get Others Happily Involved In Your Vision Before You Throw Your Business Plan At Them

by Joel Block, http://www.growmyrevenue. com

I recently met with an entrepreneur who had an idea for building a computer consulting practice. He planned to create a software that could revolutionize the way pharmaceutical companies manage the process of collecting data for clinical trials. All he needed was an investor to back him.

When this entrepreneur opened his computer and started to make a PowerPoint presentation to me, I told him clearly that I had no interest in the PowerPoint until I was ready for it. I asked him, first, to briefly describe his business concept so I could decide whether sitting through the presentation would be of interest to me.

As soon as he shut down the PowerPoint, the entrepreneur froze. He simply couldn't tell me why his business was so revolutionary in the hour we spent together without that PowerPoint. For him, like so many other entrepreneurs, PowerPoint is a crutch rather than a supplement to the story that he should be telling.

I told him that before he could successfully raise any capital, he would have to share his vision before explaining how to get there. Otherwise it would end up being nothing more than a solution looking for a problem.

I explained exactly what he needed to do in order to begin the hunt for capital and how to craft his story so it would get an investor's attention. I told him he would also need to develop different versions of his story: one for prospective strategic partners he might collaborate with in the future and one for the buyers who might need his software.

He was excited! We ended our meeting with the agreement that he would go home and think about how he wanted to proceed.

A week later, he called to tell me that he did not want help constructing his story or defining himself as an expert pharmaceutical software developer. He had everything he needed right there - in his PowerPoint presentation. All he wanted was introductions to investors. He was certain that this alone would ensure his success.

Now, I'm not any kind of expert in software or the pharmaceutical business. But, I am an expert at helping entrepreneurs lay out their business structures so that investors will sit up and take notice. In the process of successfully raising tens of millions of investor dollars, I've learned how investors think. They look for the vision. Every year I watch hundreds of entrepreneurs take the PowerPoint approach and fail. Why? Because they start in the middle!

When you get in front of an investor, you have ten seconds to convince them that you're doing something truly exciting. There are no second chances. If you can't articulate your story in those ten seconds, you will lose their interest. You'll never get the opportunity to start that PowerPoint presentation.

The bottom line: Building a successful business is the same as building a house. An architect, workmen and lender may be able and willing to help you build your dream house but you need to tell them what it should look like first. If you've got a dream that's big and exciting and you're looking for people and money to help you build it, make sure you can describe your vision from beginning to end so others can see it, too. Don't underestimate how important this foundation is. If you start with the door - you're going to fall on your face.

All employees who work directly with customers can get all the information they need by using Microsoft CRM, in order for the cooperation process to be successful and the customers to be surprised of the efficiency of the services they receive.

A big advantage of Microsoft CRM is that it gives users the ability to work offline, using Microsoft Outlook, which belongs to the CRMs support of data. Two Questions... Two Keys to Success in Deploying Performance Management Software

There are lots of variables and issues to address when deploying a performance management system across a small or large business. But I've found that there are two questions that are critical to your success, regardless of the size or nature of your business. I'm writing this to not only expose those questions, but help you get very clear on your answers. Ready to proceed?

1. WHAT'S THE OBJECTIVE? - This is an important one to answer in a personal and practical (not theoretical) manner. If you're like me, one way to approach this is to imagine someone else asking you, "So why are we doing this... when we are already busy?"

What would your answer be to that? You can't say, Seemed like a good idea this month, nor can you tie it directly into profit or efficiency if the listener doesn't already believe that connection. Our suggestion in responding to this question is that you tie it directly into outcomes that are easy to identify with. These are the outcomes that problems in the work process, e.g. better visibility, better coordination, less details slipping through the cracks, less cost over-runs and delays

So exactly what is your objective or your top three objectives for making a performance management system part of your business process? Believe me, not only do you need to be very clear about that, but every other person in your organization needs (you) to be clear about that as well.

Getting other people clear and enrolled in the ("your) objective means you need to make time for interaction in which they have the opportunity to see, agree and support your decision. If you get initial push-back, plan on additional interaction time in which you hear and acknowledge their perceptions, BUT don't leave until you have dismantled their objections.

Stop. Before we go any further, let's talk about how to manage objections.

Objections are usually based in a different world view that is constructed on a different set of facts or interpretation of facts than you might wish. The best way to deal with objections is to first listen and acknowledge, and then present reality based performance facts.

It's only human to minimize performance gaps, so you may need to dredge facts up to the surface. Facts that inevitably, and unmistakably point out the reality that something about how business is currently managed is not OK, is not good enough, doesn't fit with where you all want the business to go.

The truth is, utilizing performance technology , like ManagePro software, is a statement that you want/need/require things to change. If that's the case, you might as well say it point blank. Change and performance improvement is not something to dance around.

2. WHAT'S IT WORTH TO YOU? This question and your response is the 2nd key predictor of your success. Especially when deploying performance management software across your organization to deliver well what, exactly, are you delivering?

Well that's an important question to address isn't it, maybe even before you address what the solution is worth? In fact both questions support each other and ultimately the success of deploying a new technology solution.

Your answer should contain information from the personal, customer, team interaction and process levels. The answer to this question can be simple or quite involved, with very defined costs and gains. Here are a couple of examples:

What's it worth can be defined in terms of personal satisfaction and/or reduced frustration.

It can also be defined in terms of where your time gets spent, and then again

It can be defined in terms of dollars and due dates, quality and sales metrics.

What I would like to underscore is that however you measure worth; you want to have this question resolved in your head and ready to articulate to others. To embark on a software deployment, e.g. a change process, without having a good grasp of what ultimately the outcome is worth to you and others personally, is a setup for poor results.

Do you know why I wrote that last comment? It's simply that I have found this statement to be true over and over again,

If you haven't firmly established what the value of your objective is, you'll easily get pulled away by competing priorities or pushed back by resistance from others.

Knowing the value of your objective (ex. Improved financial and quality outcomes, or a more systematic (less reactive), or a visible performance management system):

will keep you on track,

will help you avoid under-spending on resources to deploy the solution and

will keep you out of the 2/3's group that doesn't succeed at deploying software.

What To Look For In Anti-Spyware Solutions

Given how serious a threat spyware is, all antispyware solutions should ideally do a complete PC clean. The antispyware software must have the tools that make it easy to detect and remove spyware and adware. It must also be able to prevent spyware from getting into your computer.

With spyware such a serious threat, there are certain specific characteristics that must be expected from spyware or adware detection and removal software. Ideally, all antispyware solutions must do a complete PC clean.

Any software that picks up information from your computer without your awareness can be called Spyware. Some spyware just tracks your Internet connection and information related to your operating system. Other types of spyware pick up personal data like your browsing behavior and spies on your private files collecting data it can relay to outside parties.

Obviously most people wouldn't allow spyware into their computers. Most people do not mind some tracking of data, provided personal information is not included. But they don't appreciate their computer being spied upon without their approval. When there is no antispyware installed, spyware does worm its way into the computer and gathers information.

To avoid the spyware problem, what should we look for in an antispyware solution? Read on.

Basic Features To Look For

The antispyware software must have the tools that make it easy to detect and remove spyware and adware. Detailed descriptions must be provided after you scan your system so that you have the choice of deciding whether you want to delete or retain the entry. The antispyware must be able to auto update itself with the latest definitions of spyware. It must have the facility of auto scheduling so that you don't have to manually do it each time. If you happen to accidentally erase something, you should be able to reverse the action.

Effective And Ease Of Operation

Your antispyware must not only detect and remove spyware and adware but also be able to prevent spyware from getting into your computer. It must be able to remove the maximum kinds of spyware and adware. Above all, you must find the antispyware easy to use. The language used must not be so complicated that you spend your time just figuring out what they mean. The antispyware scan must be quick and run in the background. Customization should be easy. You should be able to scan specific parts of your computer. You should also be able to choose which items to exclude from scanning. While setting up and installing the antispyware software should be easy and quick to download and install.

The antispyware software should have a help file that is easy to consult. If your queries go beyond that, you should be able to get in touch with product customer support that responds satisfactorily. The right kind of antispyware can keep your pc spyware and adware free and protect your own privacy.

Should Ph.D.s Be Referred To As Doctor?

In recent years, I've frequently heard people claim that individuals who hold PhDs are not "real" doctors. These people assert that only physicians can rightfully claim this title, and that it's inappropriate for PhD-holders to use this term.

Frankly, I'm surprised. I thought it was common knowledge that there are both medical and non-medical doctors, and that this is a legitimate term to use in both situations. Apparently though, common knowledge isn't always as common as one would hope. For this reason, I'd like to take a moment to dispel some of the myths behind this title. (For the sake of brevity, I shall henceforth focus on the PhD degree; however, the same arguments hold for comparable degrees such as the ScD and the ThD).

Can PhDs legitimately claim to be doctors? Absolutely! The term "doctor" is derived from the Latin verb docere, which means "to teach." Historically, it refers to a teacher or, by extension, a scholar. It did not specifically refer to a physician. This title was later co-opted by the medical community though, due to the respect and prestige that it imputes. In one of life's great ironies, many uninformed laypeople now percieve the medical degree to be more prestigious than the lowly PhD, declaring that people who have earned the latter are "not real doctors."

Some people say, "Well, most people only think of physicians as doctors. According to the rules of common usage then, PhD-holders shouldn't use this title." I understand the appeal of this argument, but frankly, I think it's fallacious. There are many individuals that are known to the public as "Doctor"--Dr. Martin Luther King, Dr. Joyce Brothers and Dr. Laura Schlessinger. None of these individuals has a medical degree, and yet they are commonly accorded this title.

Moreover, I think that this argument panders to ignorance, rather than fighting it. If a large portion of the population thinks that (or acts as though) only MD-holders truly merit the title of "doctor," should we bend over backwards and let their misperceptions rule? Would it not be better to educate people on the historical, established usage of this term--usage that persists to this day?

Some say, "If you refer to a PhD-holder as 'Doctor Smith,' then people will assume that he's a physician. So what happens if there's a medical emergency? Do you want people running to Smith for medical help?" Frankly, I think that this argument betrays a low opinion of the public's intelligence; it assumes that people are too dim-witted to learn, and that we may as well accept the inevitable. Personally,I would rather fight ignorance gently than assume such a lowly opinion of the common man's intellience. Would some people continue to think that only physicians merit this title? Probably so--but I suspect that the vast majority of individuals are intelligent enough to learn otherwise.

For some reason, many also think that the MD is much more difficult to attain than a PhD. I can understand why; after all, we've all heard horror stories about medical students working long hours and stayin up all through the night. However, people simply don't realize how laborious a PhD program can be. PhD students often have to engage in long hours of grueling studies and research if they wish to complete their studies in a timely fashion. I'd say that when it comes to years of study, PhD programs are more demanding as well; when starting from a bachelor's degree, a PhD typically takes from six to eight years to complete, as opposed to four years for the medical degree.

When someone declares that physicians are the only real doctors, he is simply mistaken. I'd say that PhDs have every right to this title--and I say that based on the title's etymology, the demands of their programs and the accepted, contemporary usage of this term, even outside of academic circles.

Struggling Issues For Your Teens

This diagnosis like attention deficit has believers and non believers as to the legitimacy of it. Some people believe that when parents were able to use corporal punishment on their children there werent very many children who said they couldnt help their behaviors because they had a disorder. There are those who will also say maybe that is why so and so turned out the way he did, because he was unable to obey authority. This help will usually require the parents to place their child outside of the home probably in another state.

Experts say that more and more teens are practicing something called "cutting," a form of self-injury that helps them temporarily escape their problems.

Teens struggling with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) may experience Obsessions - recurrent and persistent ideas, thoughts, images, or impulses that cause intrusive and disturbing anxiety or distress. People usually recognize that the obsessions dont make a lot of sense. Troubled teens with OCD try to eliminate obsessions through compulsions - acts that are done over and over again and normally according to specific personal rules.

As the treatment progresses, the teen-agers return home in an effort to begin to rebuild the family relationship. In the next stage they are allowed to take a newcomer into their home each night. And then they return to school or work to learn how to deal with negative peer pressure. They are expected to report to the facility after they get out of school or work.

Near the end of the treatment, the teen-agers report to the facility less frequently and are expected to learn to manage their free time with family and friends who support their new drug-free life style

In the last stage, the adolescents help the staff and train to become program counselors. They are also encouraged to join adult self-help groups like Alcoholics Anonymous and Overeaters Anonymous.

If your teen is struggling with issues such as Depression, Substance Abuse, Authority Problems, ADHD/ADD, School Problems, Bipolar Issues, etc., perhaps some form of intervention is necessary.

3 Steps To Getting An Online High School Education

Online high school education might make it possible for you to get your diploma. After you have left school, finishing your education is hard. There are a lot of barriers you have to overcome. High school doesn't fit well into the adult world you live in now, but you need that diploma in order to do what you want to with your life. Here are some ideas for getting your diploma using online high school education.

Step 1: Assess

Start by looking at where you are and where you want to be. If you are only a couple of classes short of the requirements for high school graduation in your school district, maybe they offer the classes over the internet, and you could finish up and graduate from your home high school.

If you need more than a couple of classes to graduate, you could earn your diploma and graduate from an online high school, taking classes to meet their graduation requirements.

Look at where you want to be, too. If you are finishing high school for your own self development, or so that you can advance in your present job, online high school education classes might be what you need. If, however, you want to go to college after you get your diploma, you might be able to find "double duty" classes that will give you both high school and college credit, so that you can enter college ahead of the game.

Step 2: Gather Information

There are four places you should look for online high school education classes: your local school district, community education in your area, local colleges and online high school education providers. Compare the requirements each program has for high school graduation, and what you would have to do to complete those requirements.

Look into ways to pay for your online high school education. If you are under 21, your local school district may be a good place to look for funding. Whether you get help from a local school district or not, you should be able to find a way to complete your high school education for free or at a low cost.

If you plan to enter college when you are done, find out what the entrance requirements are for your top three or four college choices. If they require two years of foreign language, for instance, it is much less expensive to take the classes as part of an online high school education than it is to make up the deficiency later.

Step 3:

Get started. Put together all the information you have gathered, and decide how you will go about getting an online high school education. Do the paperwork, go through the hoops and enroll in a class. You are on your way to completing your diploma through online high school education.

Business Process Outsourcing in Action

Business process is the skeleton of a certain business activity. It involves the description of different tasks and possible outcomes that are associated with a specific business activity. It is essential in crafting the business goals of a certain corporate organization, which is clearly defined in the organizations business strategy.

Business process is classified into three categories, which are as follows:

The management processes, which is followed to run the operation of the business and comply with all existing yet relevant requirements.

The operational processes, which is followed in delivering the business value to clients, and is considered as an integral part of a corporate organizations core business.

The supporting processes, which is followed to support the core-based processes. It includes accounting, information technology (IT) support, and recruitment processes.

Being the skeleton of your organizations business activity, you must give utmost importance to your business process as a whole. This is extremely important since the success or failure in achieving the goals of your business will largely depend on the process that you have followed, together with your business strategies and plans. Thus, without an effective business process, your business is as good as dead when the time comes.

Realizing the importance of a business process in achieving their business objectives, there are companies that prefer to outsource some or all of their business process (most specifically the non-core processes) to third-party organizations. The main motive in outsourcing a business process is to allow the business to invest most of their time, financial, and human resources into core activities and focus on building effective strategies, which will fuel the growth of the company.

Since the global marketplace is fast-changing and highly-competitive, your business must concentrate on improving the productivity and at the same time trim down unnecessary costs. Non-core business processes are being outsourced since the tasks involved in these processes consumes time, essential resources, and energy. Thus, outsourcing these non-core business processes will help you achieve a cost-efficient system.

Non-core business processes that can be outsourced range from production to customer service to support functions (such as software development). Most companies that are outsourcing their business process are from Western countries and they are delegating the work to outsourcing firms located offshore, especially countries located on the Eastern hemisphere, such as China, Philippines, India, and Malaysia.

While more and more companies are becoming comfortable with outsourcing their business processes, outsourcing most of their learning and development functions is still a new approach to many learning professionals. Moving the training and learning model that is completely in-house to one that will be handled by other individuals outside the business is a big leap. However, as mentioned earlier, it is important that these processes receive equal importance and consideration for the benefit of your business as a whole. Thus, despite of business process outsourcing as a new approach, many training and learning professionals are starting to get the grip of the new system and subsequently will follow the outsourcing trend.

Business process, especially the non-core one, needs to be given equal importance and attention to achieve an efficient business operation. Outsourcing these business processes will not be a waste of time and financial resources, but rather a strategy to be followed. Surviving in this highly-competitive global marketplace is not as easy as you think. You need an option that will work to your advantage and that is outsourcing.

What Is A VoIP Phone?

In spite of the growing popularity of IP telephony, there are still many people who do not know what a VoIP phone is. What is the difference between a VoIP phone and an ordinary phone?

As far as you are concerned, probably not a lot. You can still use your own landline phone if need be, though in its simplest form there is no VoIP phone handset as such. Just a microphone and speakers will do. All you need is some software which is supplied by the provider.

You can use your normal land-line phone. Just like digital TV requires a box, either set-top or included in the set, VoIP needs a box which you can either buy yourself, or get from your VoIP provider. Once you connect your phone to the box and the box to your internet connection, you have your VoIP phone system using your own phone. Due to the connection speeds involved you have to have broadband or another high-speed internet connection.

Your telephone conversation passes through the internet in packets in the same way as any other file does. As you speak, your analogue voice signal is digitized by the VoIP software into binary form, and the digital stream broken up into small 'packets' which are sent through the internet. These packets each take their own fastest route through the internet, from computer to computer, till they reach their destination. This is the way that all files are sent through IP.

The problem with a streamed signal, such as a VoIP phone conversation, and a packet system, is that the packets do not always arrive in the correct order. This is due to the releative amount of internet traffic each packet comes up against, and the fact that they can each take different routes. Also, some packets are lost, or 'dropped'.

Modern software is becoming increasingly better at arranging packets in the correct order (often through slight time delays which allow them to be rearranged) and covering up 'dropped' packets. VoIP phone conversations are therefore more audible now than they were in the early days of VoIP phone systems.

As I said, you can use your computer microphone and speakers to make and receive conversations, but you can also get a dedicated VoIP phone if you prefer. It's all a matter of choice and does not significantly affect the services you can have.

Some of the services supplied free with VoIP phone systems are:

* Caller ID
* Call waiting
* Call forwarding
* Voicemail
* Conference calls
* Call transfer
* Group pick-up

Once you have your box, any calls you make to another VoIP are free anywhere. For calls to non-VoIP phones there is a charge, but this is generally lower than normal land-line charges.

Your phone number relates to the adaptor, so you can take this with you and use it on any computer with fast internet connection. You can also buy a VoIP phone to go with your laptop and make telephone calls anywhere at any time; just as you can with a mobile, but at a fraction of the cost, and usually free to any other IP phone. This is an excellent inexpensive solution for businesses with a network of offices all calls between them will be free throughout the world.

Another cool feature is virtual phone numbers. You can get local area numbers allocated to your regular phone number, so that if your family live in LA and you are in New York they can ring your LA local number with their landline and speak to you in New York at local rates. How cool is that!

A VoIP phone is now an attractive option for anyone, both as a cheap alternative to a mobile phone and as a complete replacement for a landline.

Home Office Productivity Improved Using A Wireless Intercom System

One of the most frustrating things about working from home is when youre on an important phone call and the door bell rings. Then you have to decide whether to put the call on hold and make the journey to the front door for what could very well just be the neighbor girl selling cookies.

The trip to the front door really isnt the worst of it. Its the interruption to your concentration that causes a drop in your productivity. If whoever is at the door is a sales person or a pizza delivery person for a pizza you didnt order, then you may add a little anger on top of your interrupted concentration.

Once you get rid of the distraction and head back to your office, now you have to get back in the mode of concentration you were previously in. This is not always an easy task, especially if youre still angry.

One solution to this problem is to add an intercom system with a door phone to your residence. If youre building a new home, you can easily add the wires to do this before the walls are closed. Unfortunately, its much more expensive to do this for existing houses, condos, or town homes.

Thats where a wireless intercom system works nicely as long as the system is totally wireless. That means you dont have to run power or any other wires to the units at the front door or on your desk.

You also want a system that provides digital security so neighbors with similar units or cordless phones cant listen to your conversations. Many digital systems also provide quieter operation so you wont have any static noise drowning out your conversation.

The system you choose must have a waterproof outdoor wireless door intercom unit available so you can talk to whoever is at the door. If you have a larger house, or one with walls that could block the transmission signal, youll want a long range system.

Some systems even let you add a remote door lock control, which is nice if you want a delivery person to just slide a package in the front door.

By installing a wireless intercom system you can quickly run off sales people with barely a break in your concentration. That improves your productivitynot to mention lowers the stress caused by being angry for having someone make you walk all the way to the front door for nothing.

What Is The Difference Between Windows and UNIX Web Hosting?

Windows and UNIX are in fact two different systems and of course we are referring to computer systems. A web host uses computers, (we shall refer to them as servers, just computers, but sometimes larger) to host websites, and all computers need a operating system, so Windows and UNIX are the operating system.

The Windows used is normally Windows NT or 2000 and of course as you know Microsoft charges for it's software, while UNIX is an open source operating system, this means that the original creators of the system have given up the rights and anyone can use it, change, improve or do anything they want with, free of charge.

From this we already have to main differences, Window hosts are more expensive and UNIX is more reliable, because it as been improved by thousands of anonymous people.

Most probably you are reading this in front of your computer which most probably is operates on a Windows XP, have you noticed that it sometimes, it freezes, and the only solution is to restart it? UNIX is much more stable, robust, time-tested, flexible platform for a web server.

Hosting Marketers
http://hosting-marketers.com/

But Windows servers have also it's positive sides, they are compatible with Microsoft applications, and fully support Microsoft FrontPage, Microsoft Access and MS SQL, they also offer advance-programming environments and features such as Active Server Pages (ASP), the ASP.NET framework, Visual Basic Scripts, MS Index Server, Macromedia's and Cold Fusion.

Windows operating system require little or no experience in web development to get advanced features working very quickly because of better graphical user interface (GUI) Software such as Microsoft's FrontPage is specially developed for the webmaster to decrease the website development time and efforts.

Lets go back again to UNIX, they support FrontPage, Flash, Shockwave, Real Audio/Video, Cgi Scripts, Perl, PHP, SSH (Secure Telnet), MySQL, Web-Based Control System, Anonymous FTP, Web Site Graphical Statistics, Web-Based Email System, Miva/XML, Cold Fusion Perl, JAVA, PHP, C, C++, Miva, Shell Access and other wide verity of feature like Telnet and SSH that provides lots of flexibility and freedom in managing file and directories, but some of this require advance knowledge of Unix commands in order for you to customize the scripts to match your website needs.

Because of the nature of UNIX, (open source) and the people who love it, there is on the WWW freely available software and scripts, again bringing the cost down.

Concluding which one is the best, it really depends what you need, if you need high uptime, security and not so expensive then go with UNIX, if you need to run Windows applications like, MS Access or the MS SQL SERVER then Windows is your choice.

Introduction to Affiliate Marketing - Part 1/2

This is Part 1 of 2

Affiliate Program History

Invented by CDNow.com at the end of 1994 and pioneered by Amazon.com in 1996, "affiliate programs", also known as Associate Programs or Partner Programs, are a simple way for Web sites to generate revenue by directing traffic toward other sites and a great way for the operating site to increase its traffic and revenue.

Because affiliate programs are so convenient and work so well, they have become the industry's dominant method of online Marketing.

There are 4 different kinds of affiliate programs to compensate "Affiliates" (or referring sites) for generating traffic to the Affiliate Program operating Website: Pay-Per-Impression, Pay-Per-Click, Pay-Per-Lead and Pay-Per-Sale.

Pay-Per-Impression (CPM)

Cost-Per-Mil (Mil = 1000) Impressions. Publisher gets from Advertiser $x.xx Amount of money for every 1000 Impressions (Page Views/Displays) of the Ad. The Ad can be Text (AdSense), Banner Image or Rich Media.

The Pay-Per-Impression and Pay-Per-Click Model are not common to be used in Affiliate Marketing anymore. They were used in the Past, but were mostly abandoned due to Fraud and lack of Results.

The CPM (cost-per-impression) compensation Model was revived by Google for Google AdWords in summer 2005. The feature is called "Site-Targeting" in AdWords and allows you to display your Adsense Ad on a specific Website that runs AdSense Ads.

Pay-Per-Click (CPC) Model

Cost-Per-Click. Advertiser pays Publisher $x.xx amount of money, every time a visitor (potential prospect) clicks on the advertiser's Ad. It is irrelevant (for the compensation) how often an Ad is displayed. Commission is only due when the Ad is clicked.

Like the Pay-per-Impression model was the Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Model popular during the dot com boom at the end of the 1990th but was mostly abbandoned by Advertisers for Advertisements on other Websites due to rampart problems with click fraud.

The PPC Model was kept alive by the PPC Search Engine GoTo.com which became later Overture.com and is now owned by Yahoo! and renamed from "Yahoo Sponsored Search" to Yahoo Search Marketing.

Google launched their PPC Service AdWords in 2000. Ask Jeeves, now simply Ask.com followed with their PPC Service in 2005 called Ask Sponsored Listings and MSN.com in 2006 with AdCenter. Other PPC Services are Miva/FindWhat.com and 7Search.com.

Contextual Advertising

The big come-back of PPC came when Google launched AdSense in 2003, the birth of contextual Advertising. What is Google AdSense? Here is a quote from Google's History at Google's corporate Website.

Google AdSense: "... offering web sites of all sizes a way to easily generate revenue through placement of highly targeted ads adjacent to their content. Google AdSense technology analyzes the text on any given page and delivers ads that are appropriate and relevant, increasing the usefulness of the page and the likelihood that those viewing it will actually click on the advertising presented there."

Yahoo's Version of AdSense called Yahoo! Publisher Network was launched (beta) in 2005. Microsoft is also working on their own Version of AdSense which is expected to be launched (beta) in 2006.

Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

Classic PPC Search Engine Marketing (Cost-Per-Click (CPC) advertising) is not Affiliate Marketing. It is an entirely different type of Internet Marketing and only has some technical details in common with old PPC/CPC Affiliate Marketing.

Ads are primarily displayed at the Search Engine Search Results Pages (SERPs) next to organic, free, Search Results. Contextual Advertising introduced with Google AdSense is also not Affiliate Marketing since no direct Partnership between the Advertiser who creates and pays for the Ads and the Publisher who displays the Ads on his Website.

This type of Marketing is generally referred to as Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and is often and wrongly mixed up and confused with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) which is about improving the ranking of a Site in the organic, free, SERPs at major Search Engines via technical means and deep understanding of the complicated ranking algorithms used by modern Search Engines.

Pay-Per-Call

This is a new compensation model. No official abbreviation exist yet. Advertiser pays publisher a flat $x.xx amount in commission for phone calls received from potential prospects as response to a specific publisher Ad. Recently developed call-tracking technology allows to create a bridge between online and offline Advertising. Pay-Per-Call Advertising is still new and in it's infancy.

Pay-Per-Call Advertising is neither Search Engine Marketing (SEM) nor Affiliate Marketing. It is expected to become the 4th major type of Internet Marketing next to Affiliate Marketing, Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimization within the next years.

The Affiliate Marketing shifted almost entirely to the Pay-Per-Lead (CPA or CPL) and Pay-Per-Sale Model (CPS) which is also known as Performance Marketing. The paid commission is usually a percentage of the referred sales or a flat dollar amount.

The Pay-Per-Lead (CPA or CPL) Model

Cost-Per-Action or Cost-Per-Acquisition (CPA), Cost-per-Lead (CPL). The Advertiser pays the Publisher a flat $x.xx amount in commission if a referred visitor performs a specific action on the Advertisers Site. It could be Actions like filling out a Form, Signing up for a Newsletter or Creating an Account.

The CPA Model is very popular with Online Services like Credit Card Providers, Insurance Services, DVD and Video Game Rental Services and Loans and Mortgages. Due to the usual high flat commission amount is the CPA very attractive for PPC Affiliates that do not have a permanent Website and an established User Base.

Before you consider the CPA Model for you problem, make sure to have mechanisms in place to validate the quality of referred leads. Your program will be vulnerable to become a victim of fraud, affiliates that generate tons of "fake" leads if you do not have anything in place to verify the quality of the produced leads.

The Pay-Per-Sale (CPS) Model

Cost-Per-Sale (CPS). Advertiser pays the publisher a percentage (%) of the Order Amount (Sale) that was created by a customer who was referred by the publisher.

This Model is used by most Online Merchants today.

Here are same basic tips for Advertisers that consider starting an Affiliate Program with CPS Compensation Model:

Do not pay commissions that you end up loosing money on an order. You will gain new customers because of the Affiliate Program, but you will also pay commissions for returning customers.

Shoppers on the internet are more savvy today. Comparison Shopping Sites, Coupon Sites, Cash-Back Shopping and Charity Sites, that make up a large percentage of successful affiliates, are often visited by Shoppers first. See the Affiliate Program also as a Customer Retention Tool.

CPA or CPS?

If your competitors have affiliate programs and you don't, chances are good, that you are loosing a considerable amount of business to them, because the lag of an affiliate program for your site.

If you want to use an Affiliate Program as an Online Merchant for the whole purpose of customer acquisition, consider the CPA Model and pay a flat commission for new customers referrer by affiliates.

Do the math to come up with a Flat Commission that makes it worthwhile for affiliates to promote you. Affiliates are not waiting for you, the next Merchant that has a Program is only one click away.

What you do and what commission you pay is up to you. You can also mix compensation models. The best thing to do is always to check first what your competitors are doing and use their compensation model as reference.

Pay-Per-Sale is by far the most common compensation model. 2/3 to 3/4 of all Affiliate Programs today are Pay-per-Sale Programs. The operating Site only pays "Commission" to their Affiliates for actual Results (a Sale, Sign-up etc.) and not just for promises (Clickthroughs, Banner Impressions).
